Topeak Beam Rack and MTX Trunk Bag

I finally got my order from Amazon! It's a Topeak QR Beam Rack MTX with dual side pannier frame and a Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP with rain cover! Isn't it awesome? I can't wait to give it a go! I'll probably do a short video on how easy it is to attach the bag to the rack as well as how big the trunk bag is. In the meantime, I'm planning to bring it to Batangas tomorrow with some stuff loaded and see how it'll affect my handling.

Check out the photos I took:

I agree it's awesome.

How much and how heavy it is?

Hi Tom!

It cost me about $145. Bought it from Amazon and had it shipped using Johnny Air.

Forgot to mention the weight!

Haven't had the change to bring it to a weighing scale but add about 4 pounds for the bag and rack to your current steed.

It's a 17-inch KHS hardtail frame

I am intending to use a Topeak MTX DXP in the Camino de Santiago from France to Spain thru 1000 Km (aprox. 630 miles). What do you think? Do you believe that this bike trunk will resist?

I would suggest that you use a rack that attaches to the frame (maybe via the seat tube) rather than something like this that attaches to just the seatpost. I had to stop and align it from time to time after going through some rough terrain.

If it's the bag, I believe there's a more waterproof version available now. I suggest that you get that. :)
