City Slickers Bike Version Anyone?

Wouldn't it be great if you can just drop everything that you're doing, clear your mind and go on an epic ride around the country? To install racks and panniers on your bike, pack in cycling clothes, food, a laptop, some money and just go on your way without any idea where you're going to sleep for the night? Now that would be an adventure, a City Slickers version for the cyclist.

Sigh.

To do this is still one of my dreams. But with a family I can't just drop everything. It needs to be scheduled, if not planned correctly.

It might not be what the post's idea is but maybe we can schedule something like this soon? Start with an overnight trip maybe?

I need to get lights ASAP :P
